A Lawrence County man has been sentenced on charges of violating federal narcotics laws.
U.S. Department of Justice officials say 37-year-old Dondi Searcy Jr of New Castle will serve 150 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release.
According to authorities, Searcy Jr conspired to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine. Searcy Jr also had a role in a large scale drug distribution operation based out of New Castle that included mailing large amounts of cocaine from California.
Aiding federal and state law enforcement in this investigation were the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office and officers with the New Castle Police Department.
