Lawrence Dean Kennedy, age 77, of Butler passed away on Sunday evening October 31, 2021 from complications of COVID19.
Born March 9, 1944 in Butler, he was the son of the late Thomas Dean and Vera May (Killean) Kennedy.
He was a member of St Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
Lawrence (Ken), began his long steel career at the former Pullman Standard, and then retired years later from Trinity Industries, all in Butler.
He was an avid Steelers fan, enjoyed painting things and fixing things around the house, but most of all he loved watching his children and grandchildren play ball.
He is survived by his daughter Melissa (Robert) Lincavage of Philadelphia; five grandchildren: Zach Kennedy of Prospect, Drake Kennedy of Bulter, Troy Lincavage, Payton Lincavage, and Brady Lincavage all of Philadelphia; two great grandsons Jaxson and Kaden Kennedy of Prospect; his companion with whom he made his home Nadesha Anastasoff; daughter in law Lisa Kennedy of Alabama; his siblings Tom (Cecelia) Kennedy of North Carolina, Connie (Dave)Crispin of Colorado, Susan Vanderbug of South Carolina, Becky Bishop of Virginia Beach; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Nellie J. Turk Kennedy, who passed away August 6, 2009; his son Michael D. Kennedy who passed away on October 1, 2020; and his sister Diane Snyder who passed away January 8, 2017.
At the request of Lawrence, there will be no public services.
Cremation services were entrusted to the Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., 387 Main Street, Prospect, PA.
