With cooler temperatures here, the fall season has fully arrived which means leaf peepers are closer to seeing some bright colors.
Officials with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources say that leaves are just beginning to change.
Most oaks in our area are still green, although some white oak trees are showing flashes of scarlet. There are also some birch trees that are turning yellow.
Park officials say red maple trees along Lake Arthur in Moraine State Park are showing good color at the moment.
Peak foliage is still an estimated two weeks away according to the DCNR.
