After 46 years Mike Lange is stepping down from the broadcast booth. The Hall of Famer was behind the mic for most of the Penguins greatest franchise moments.
Lange joined the Penguins after getting his start calling games in the Western Hockey League for teams in San Diego and Phoenix.
His voice soon became synonymous with Penguins hockey—as was his affinity for creative calls.
He had stepped back from calling all regular season the games over the last couple of years, and is now officially retiring from the booth. Lange will still remain with the Penguins for special programming.
