We’ve seen a record number of coronavirus cases for the past few days across Pennsylvania.
State Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine says the positivity rate has increased from week-to-week.
The statewide percent positivity is nearly at seven percent. Last week’s percent positivity was at six percent,” Levine said. “And that is one indicator how we know that the increase is not just because of increase in testing, it’s due to increase number of COVID-19 in our counties and in our Commonwealth.”
Butler County is also above a five percent positivity rate.
Levine also said hospizations are up.
“We are reporting 1,735 individuals are hospitalized in Pennsylvania due to COVID-19,” Levine said at a press conference Monday afternoon. “This number has been steadily climbing and has increased significantly over the past week.”
“Last Monday I reported 1,267 individuals hospitalized due to COVID-19, so that’s an increase of 500 patients in a week,” Levine said.
