The 1950 Census is being released for research today and the Butler Area Public Library is marking the occasion with more information about America at that time.
A virtual interactive tool will be posted to the library’s Facebook page as well as their website to provide more information about this resource as well as the era leading up to this historical document.
The Butler Area Public Library is also holding a Bedding Drive this month to support children in need through the Mars Chapter of the Sleep in Heavenly Peace organization.
Those able to participate are asked to bring new twin bed pillows, blankets, comforters, and quilts to a donation bin in the library’s children’s department.
Several local organizations are teaming up to celebrate national “Week of the Young Child” with special events and activities.
This year’s theme is “Exploring Our Colorful Feelings” and kicks off with the distribution of free activity bags for kids beginning Saturday and continuing through a week from today, while supplies last at any Butler County library. Participants will have the chance to win prizes.
The Butler County Early Care and Education Council, Butler County Human Services, Lifesteps, and the Butler Area Public Library will partner to help young children and their families with a free Virtual Early Learning Experience.
For more information about this program or to register, visit the Butler Area Public Library’s Beanstack page or contact the library.
