Even though the Butler Area Public Library remains closed until further notice, new activities and events are planned for patrons.
The library is celebrating Black History Month with a challenge using the library’s Beanstack site. Those who read at least 10 hours and complete 10 activity badges by the end of the month will have a book added to the library’s collection in their honor.
February is Library Lover’s Month and adults are invited to cross-stitch a heart ornament and miniature book keychain. Kits are available for pickup at the library one per person while supplies last.
Finally, the first Saturday in February is traditionally Take Your Child to the Library Day but this year, it has been re-named Take the Library to Your Child Day. From 9 a.m. to noon the library will be giving out grab and go activity packs followed by a special storytime video at noon on Facebook.
