Linda Lou Sedwick, 88, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Newhaven Court of Clearview.
She was born February 13, 1935, in Akron, Ohio to the late William Rush Kuhns and Mildred (Bloom) Kuhns.
Mrs. Sedwick was a 1953 graduate of Kittanning High School, then went on to Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing, earning a degree as a Registered Nurse in 1956. In her earlier years, she worked as a Registered Nurse in the Operating room at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Community Alliance Church, where she was very active. Mrs. Sedwick was also involved with the Town and Country Garden Club, volunteered at Meals on Wheels, and enjoyed playing tennis.
Mrs. Sedwick is survived by her husband, Jay L. Sedwick, Sr., whom she married May 1, 1954; two daughters, Cyd K. Johnston and her husband Raymond of Butler, PA and Joy L. Moon and her husband Robert of Lima, OH; two sons, Jay L. Sedwick, Jr. and his wife Laurie of Kennedale, TX and Dru A. Sedwick and his wife Trudy of Butler, PA; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one nephew; and one niece.
A Memorial Service to honor Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Rd., Butler, PA 16001 with Reverend Robert Thomas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Linda’s honor to the Butler Chapter of Meals on Wheels, 218 E. Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001 or Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, PA 16001.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001.
