Linda Schrieberg, 69, died on April 19, 2021.
She was the daughter of Eli and Esther Schrieberg, of Butler, PA.
She was born in Butler, on April 21, 1951, and graduated from Butler Area Senior High School in 1969. She earned her B.A. from Simmons College in Boston, MA and went on to graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh, where she obtained her MBA in Finance. Her academic career concluded at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia where she did all of her coursework – except complete her dissertation – for her PhD. in Soviet Studies.
She worked for Cabot Corporation in Charleston, West Virginia as a Financial Analyst, taught at Butler (PA) County Community College, then went on to work for Philip Morris in Richmond, Virginia. In later years, she enjoyed teaching English online to students in China and other foreign countries.
She is survived by her sister, Joanne Birnberg, of Palm Bay, Florida, her brother, David Schrieberg, of Luxembourg, her niece, Sarah Birnberg, of Rochester, NY, her nephews Felipe and Ethan Schrieberg-Rodriguez, of Europe, her aunt and uncle in Pittsburgh, PA and cousins in Pittsburgh, New Haven, Connecticut, Richmond, Va. and Boca Raton, FL.
Her funeral will be held graveside at Congregation B’nai Abraham Cemetery, Butler, PA, on Friday, April 23, 2021, at 11:00 AM.
