A local nonprofit organization is giving back to the community through an activity planned for this weekend.
The Butler Lions Club will be packaging 6,000 meals on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Butler Blind Association Building.
The meals will then be distributed to food banks throughout Butler County. Last month, the Butler Lions Club donated food for the Summit Elementary School Backpack program.
The Butler Lions Club began in 1923 and will celebrate a century of service to the local community with a gathering next month.
Anyone interested in joining the club is welcome to attend membership meetings held the first and third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
