Pennsylvania’s top law enforcement official is reminding student loan borrowers of an upcoming deadline to receive credit towards loan forgiveness.
According to Attorney General Michelle Henry, borrowers with Perkins, Health Education Assistance, or commercially held Federal Family Education loans should look into consolidation by this Tuesday (4/30).
By consolidating these loans into the Department of Education’s Direct Loan Program, the loans become eligible for Income Driven Repayment Programs such as the new SAVE program.
Thousands of borrowers who could benefit from this program may have received a notification letter from Henry but those who have not are advised to research the kind of student loans they may have and then contact the loan servicer or the PA
