Independence Health System will hold a local blood drive this week.
This Community Blood Bank event is planned for Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Butler Memorial Hospital Nixon Sarver Classroom near the Tower entrance.
Participants will be automatically entered into a raffle to win a pair of kayaks. Hospital officials say walk-ins are welcome, but they do encourage making an appointment online or by calling 1-877-842-0631.
The donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh over 110 pounds, have no tattoos or piercings in the last three months, and be in good health. A photo ID is required.
