Healthy community members are encouraged to help neighbors in need through participation in a few upcoming blood drives.
The first American Red Cross drive is coming up today from noon to 5 p.m. at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Butler.
Another drive is planned for a week from today from 1 to 6 p.m. at Slippery Rock United Methodist Church. A third drive is planned for Friday, February 12th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Cranberry.
Blood donation supplies have been low as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the winter is a time of increased need. Anyone who donates at these February drives will receive a $5 Amazon.com Gift Card by email.
Those interested in donating at these drives are asked to make an appointment through the website of the American Red Cross, the Red Cross Blood Donor App, or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.
Red Cross will be testing blood donations for COVID-19 antibodies.
