Four more people have died locally at Butler Memorial Hospital over the past several days as a result of serious COVID-19 symptoms.
The hospital reported one COVID-related death to the state on Thursday.

According to the Butler Health System, as of Thursday morning 41 patients were hospitalized at Butler Memorial Hospital with six of those in the ICU. This is three more hospitalized as well as two more COVID patients in the ICU compared to Thursday.
Butler Health System also announced that the organization will await clarity and direction from the federal government about vaccine mandates following the decision made by the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
