Several Butler County municipalities and organizations have been chosen to receive state funding for improvement projects.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority has approved a grant of nearly $125,000 to upgrade Ritts Park in the City of Butler. This project will include rehabilitation of the seating area, a 10 station Fit Trail, conversion of a tennis court to pickleball, walkway restoration, and landscaping. State Representative Marci Mustello helped secure this funding to make the total $147,000 cost of the project more affordable.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority also approved a $40,000 Multimodal Transportation fund grant to replace a deteriorating bridge over Davis Run on Fox Road with a 50-foot aluminum box culvert.
According to State Senator Joe Pittman, the CFA is also providing a nearly $59,000 Watershed Restoration Protection program grant to the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania to stabilize the streambed along Little Buffalo Creek in Buffalo Township.
