A Butler County Deputy Sheriff has been put on administrative leave after he allegedly assaulted several different people late last month.
State Police have charged 53-year-old Butler County Deputy Sheriff Mark Kowaleski of Natrona Heights with eight counts of Indecent Assault without Consent for an incident that occurred on February 26.
According to charging documents, Kowaleski visited a home located on the 300 block of American Avenue in Butler City, with alcohol and his hand cuffs. The five individuals claim that Kowaleski was not a problem at first.
Shortly thereafter, it’s alleged that Kowaleski showed nude photographs and smacked one woman on her butt twice. The group then decided to go to a public location, and while driving to the location it’s alleged Kowaleski grasped a woman’s breasts while driving, rubbed her leg, and put his fingers in holes in the alleged victims’ pants.
When police interviewed Kowaleski he denied ever touching any of the victims. He was put on administrative leave as the investigation began on February 27.
A disciplinary hearing is scheduled for Thursday on what actions will be taken next.
