A local lawmaker will hold a public hearing later this week to the benefits, challenges, and economics of extracting rare earth minerals.
State Representative and Pennsylvania House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee Chairman Daryl Metcalfe will lead the hearing in Harrisburg on Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
This hearing will include testimony from representatives of various companies, organizations, and associations including the Bureau of Geological Survey, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and Penn State University Center for Critical Minerals.
