There’s still time to sign up for an upcoming workshop for those who have ever thought about running for a local school board, borough council, or a township seat.
The South Butler Community Library is partnering with Penn State Extension for a program called “Toss Your Hat in the Ring” to be held Monday at 7 p.m.
A panel of local officials will share some of their experiences. The workshop won’t offer campaign tips or strategies, but rather focus on understanding the roles and responsibilities that come with public service as well as instructions on how to run such as filing a petition.
There is no fee to attend and refreshments will be available. Registration is encouraged by calling the library but walk-ins are also welcome.
