A Slippery Rock man who left the scene of an accident last week has been charged as part of an ongoing investigation.
According to State Police, 57-year-old Dave McGinty turned himself in to authorities Monday afternoon after a warrant was issued for his arrest. McGinty had been involved in a crash October 30th but then left the scene on foot into the woods with a head injury before police arrived.
While police were searching for McGinty, officers went to his residence. There they found a camping trailer that they determined had been stolen from B and R Camper Sales in Summit Township sometime before the crash. At that point a warrant was issued for McGinty’s arrest.
After he turned himself in on Monday, McGinty was arraigned on charges including receiving stolen property. Police are continuing their investigation into this incident.
