The public is invited out to a couple of events at local parks this weekend.
First, a Shiitake Mushroom Workshop is planned for Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Moraine’s South Shore Park office. Adult beginners interested in participating will be able to learn about how to identify and grow these delicious delicacies at home. Pre-registration through the DCNR website is required.
Then on Sunday, area residents are invited to McConnells Mill State Park to experience the beauty of nature on a Wildflower Walk. From 1 to 3 p.m., attendees will meet at the Hell’s Hollow Parking lot to see a variety of spring blooms. Participants joining the park staff on this mile easy stroll are advised to wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, and bring drinking water.
