A local program to connect people in need with resources available in the community will expand across the state by the end of the year.
The United Way of Southwestern PA currently operates PA 2-1-1 in 13 counties in this region as well as manages the service in the Northwest and Southeast regions of the state in partnership with agencies in those areas.
This effort involves management of more than 25 resource navigators, multiple agency databases, and technology and infrastructure for 2-1-1 in 27 counties. 2-1-1 coverage will be provided for the final three counties to join the service later this year.
The services available through PA-2-1-1 can be accessed by phone (dial 2-1-1), by text (text 898-211), or online (visit pa211sw.org).
