A local lawmaker will take a leadership position in overseeing the state’s gaming industries.
Republican Representative Jeff Pyle has been named the chair of the House Gaming Oversight Committee. Pyle represents the 60th legislative district which includes parts of Armstrong, south-east Butler, and Indiana Counties.
The Gaming Oversight Committee reviews current regulations and carefully examines future legislation involving casino and internet gaming, airport and truck-stop video gaming, and newly licensed mini-casinos. The Committee also oversees the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Pyle has stepped down from his positions on the Appropriations and Judiciary Committees but will continue to serve on the House Energy and Environmental Resources panel.
