A couple local lawmakers have been appointed as committee members for the new legislative session.
Republican State Representative Tim Bonner will serve on the House Judiciary, Health, and Ethics committees. Bonner is the most experienced attorney in the state House in both criminal as well as civil law and will use that experience to help oversee behavioral complaints against Representatives while on the eight member Ethics Committee divided equally between the parties.
Republican State Representative Stephanie Scialabba has been appointed to the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness, Education, and Housing and Community Development committees. As a member of one of the fastest growing communities in the state, Scialabba plans to bring the experience of Cranberry’s growth when considering state Housing and Community Development proposals.
House committees study each bill that is proposed and then determine which will be advanced to the full House for consideration. Committees also conduct public hearings on key issues and serve as a resource for members and others.
