Two Butler County school districts have been recognized with inclusion on a list of top schools in the nation.
The National Council for Home Safety and Security has included both Mars Area and Seneca Valley School Districts on their 2018 list of Top 500 School Districts in America.
Mars ranked at number 252 while Seneca Valley came in at number 349. Data was collected from nearly 10,000 school districts and rankings were compiled using factors such as student performance, dropout rates, school funding, and area poverty rates. South Fayette Township School District was the top district in PA at 21 overall.
The National Council for Home Safety and Security is a trade association with a focus on community involvement made up of home security professionals as well as advocates for home safety.
