Two local schools have recently received statewide recognition for achieving a high quality of education for students.
Earlier this week at an event in Hershey, Pennsylvania Secretary of Education Pedro Rivera presented Mars Area High School Principal Lindsay Rosswog with a Keystone Award for Academic Excellence. This honor was conveyed in recognition of Mars Area High School receiving the National Blue Ribbon Award as an Exemplary High Performing School earlier this year.
Ryan Gloyer Middle School in the Seneca Valley School District has been awarded designation as a PA Don Eichhorn Schools: Schools To Watch for the third consecutive year. The 7th and 8th grade building is one of 40 across the state to receive this honor as part of a program developed by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform. The school was recognized for excellence and improvement in areas including academics, social equity, leadership, and accountability.
