This is the 44th year Catholic Schools week has been observed and several schools around the Butler County area are marking the occasion with events. The overall theme this year is “Catholic Schools – Learn, Serve, Lead, Succeed.”
Students at Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School will take part in a weeklong solidarity project that focuses on gratitude, responsibility and fundraising.
Today is Junior Achievement Day at Butler Catholic with parents sharing their business know-how followed by a talent show and All School Liturgy later in the week.
St. Gregory in Zelienople will make this week special with Literature Days for younger students, and a Science Fair and volleyball tournament for the older students.
This week St. Wendelin students will team up to tackle hunger, honor the military, learn about different vocations, and paint personalized rocks for the flowerbed. Saturday night is an Alumni Night Open House, mass, and a reverse raffle to benefit the alumni/advancement fund.
Bishop David Zubik of the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh will celebrate mass at three Butler County Catholic schools this week.
The bishop will celebrate mass at Cardinual Wuerl North Catholic High School in Cranberry Township on Tuesday morning. On Wednesday, he will visit St. Wendelin School in Butler.
And on Friday, he will celebrate mass at Holy Sepulcher Catholic School in Butler.
