A couple of local schools are receiving state funding to help address security needs.
State Representative Aaron Bernstine said that Slippery Rock School District was awarded $50,000 through the state’s Safe Schools Targeted Grant program.
He also says the Butler Vo-Tech will receive a $75,000 School Police Officer Grant.
Bernstine says the funding can be used for different security purposes, including hiring school security, purchasing technology, or completing safety assessments.
