Students from a couple local school districts were among those participating in a new program organized by the Pittsburgh office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
FBI Pittsburgh hosted their first FBI Teen Academy on Thursday for local high school seniors with students from Knoch High School and Mars Area High School among those in attendance.
Students had the chance to explore the world of law enforcement, build leadership skills, and learn how to become positive community role models. Classes focused on topics such as online communication and FBI application requirements while hands-on experiences included responsibilities of the FBI’s Evidence Response Team.
Nearly 50 students from more than two dozen schools took part in this activity. Students were selected based on response to an essay question and a letter of recommendation. Another Teen Academy for high school juniors is planned for sometime in the spring.
