Local young people are receiving recognition as part of a nationwide STEM, coding, and computer science contest.
At a presentation in Grove City, U.S. Representative Mike Kelly named Knoch High School students William Parisi, Taylor Stevens, and Tyler Sasse winners of the 2022 Congressional App Challenge. Their app called Epic Golf could be displayed in the US Capitol Building or featured on the House of Representatives website.
Another team of three students from Knoch High School named third place winners for their app The Maze Game. This contest is an opportunity for high school and middle school students to show innovation, creative thinking, and problem solving skills.
The Congressional App Challenge began in 2014 to encourage students to learn how to code. This is Kelly’s 4th year participating. This announcement coincides with Computer Science Education week.
