A couple of teams of local students achieved recognition as part of a regional robotics competition last weekend.
Students from Pine Richland High School in Gibsonia created a robot named Cerberus which was named Grand Champion of the National Robotics League event at California University of Pennsylvania.
The Pine Richland students received a $500 prize from the National Tooling and Machining Association. Also as a part of this competition, a team from Moniteau School District received the ‘Coolest Bot’ award for their creation called Rising Sun.
The National Robotics League is a manufacturing workforce development program where students design and build remote controlled robots to face-off in a gladiator-style competition.
