A local house of worship will be receiving state funding in order to combat hate crime through enhanced security.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency recently awarded $25,000 to B’nai Abraham Synagogue in Butler.
The grant funding will be able to be used for safety and security planning and training or vulnerability and threat assessments as well as purchasing equipment or upgrades to the facility or technology.
A total of $10 million was dispersed to over 200 nonprofit organizations across the state through this program but additional funding remains available through the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency website.
