A couple of local teenagers are facing several charges including felony burglary following an incident in the City of Butler last week.
According to a criminal complaint filed by City Police, officers from both the City and Township were dispatched to the 400 block of West Wayne Street shortly before 7 p.m. Friday for a burglary in progress.
Police found two people fighting in the street with a handgun nearby. One person was determined to be a resident of the house being burglarized while the other was identified as 15-year-old Braden Campbell of Lyndora.
Campbell allegedly refused to follow police instructions and was Tazed as a result. During a search of Campbell’s backpack, officers found a Play Station 5 that was owned by the residents. While no one was home at the time, CCTV video alerted the homeowners when Campbell and another individual entered their home through an unlocked door.
The second individual was later identified as 15-year-old Jaydon Watt of Butler who fled the scene before police arrived but was later apprehended. In addition to burglary, both boys are being charged as adults with felonies including robbery and conspiracy. Campbell also was charged with felony aggravated assault and a violation of gun laws.
