A local township will be participating in a nationwide event this coming weekend that will help with the proper disposal of unwanted prescription drugs.
On Saturday, Cranberry Township and their police department will participate in Prescription Drug Take-Back Day from 10am to 2pm at its Municipal Center. All forms of medication including tablets, capsules, pills, liquids, and ointments will be accepted with no questions asked. The collected medications will then be turned over to the DEA for proper destruction.
Officials say that Saturday’s event is in addition to the drop-off drug collection box that is available in the police department lobby during normal business hours. There will be no fee for Saturday’s event.
