A couple local veterans are being recognized for their artwork in a recent nationwide contest.
According to the Butler VA, two of the vets took home first place honors in the National Veterans Creative Arts Competition.
Marine Corps veteran Lori Ceder took home a first-place award in two categories, for stained or painted figurines and her fiber arts kit.
U.S. Army veteran Krystal Anspach also was selected as a first-place winner for her diorama, A Bushel of Fairies.
The pair will be invited to attend the national festival in May in Indianapolis.
