For the third time in three years, Butler County Community College has received a $1 million gift.
Butler Township resident and former BC3 Janice Phillips Larrick pledged the money to the BC3 Education Foundation in support of the school’s registered nursing program. This is Larrick’s second gift to the school this year. In March, she gave $50,000.
Larrick is a registered nurse herself and studied at BC3 in the late 1960s.
This latest $1 million gift follows two others. John Wise III and family pledged $1 million last year. The money is helping fund the Amy Wise Children’s Creative Learning Center, which is set to open in January. Robert Heaton pledged $1 million in 2014. His money was used to help fund the Heaton Family Learning Commons, which opened last year.
