Lois M. Geibel, 95, of Butler, passed away Thursday morning, August 12, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Born June 15, 1926 in Reynoldsville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Orloe D. Heemer and Margaret Alice (Shakley) Heemer.
Lois was a homemaker and had worked in food service for the Butler Area School District, retiring in the year 2000.
She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, where she had been a Eurcharistic Minister. She was a member of the East Butler Fire Hall Auxiliary, was a life member of the V.F.W. #249 Womens auxiliary, the Women of the Moose #260, also the college of regents & star recorde at the Women of the Moose. She was a volunteer at the Butler VA Medical Center and had been on the election board and a judge for the election board at the Terrace apartment building, until the age of 91.
Surviving is her daughter, Linda (Larry) Ellenberger of Karns City, PA.
1 son, Steven D. (Kirsten) Geibel of Bremerhaven, Germany.
9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
2 brothers: Floyd Heemer of Butler and Norman Heemer of Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald D. Geibel, whom she married October 6, 1947, he passed away December 28, 1994; also her daughter, Kathy Wetick; 1 great grandson; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 10:00 am, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 North McKean Street, Butler. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Herman.
