A longtime firefighter in the Prospect area has died following a battle with cancer.
51-year-old Ken Wilson passed away this weekend after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August.
Wilson was an assistant chief with the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department, and had been a member for the last 33 years.
In a post to social media, department officials said “Ken’s dedication to the fire service and commitment to the community never went unnoticed.”
The department also asks for the community to keep Wilson’s family in their thoughts and prayers.
