The Butler Transit Authority is bidding farewell to a longtime member.
Jim Diamond spent the last 17 years as a member of the authority board. He was recently presented with a photo book of some of his accomplishments by fellow members and authority staff.
Diamond has led efforts to remember the Pullman Standard Plant site including relocating a rail car and adding an historical designation marker, as well as assembling a case for memorabilia in the authority’s multi-modal transportation center.
Butler County Commissioners are expected to select a replacement for the final three years of Diamond’s term at their meeting later this month.
