Lorraine A. Carlson, 83, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 3, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
She was born October 7, 1934 in Dubois, Pennsylvania to the late John and Pauline M. Benny McManigle.
She worked for Goodrich in Dubois, PA and McCrory’s Store. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, walking and doing puzzles.
Lorraine is survived by her two sons, David Russell Carlson of Columbia, SC, Gary Carlson of Butler, PA; two daughters, Lori Ann Carlson Sawford and her husband Billy of Gibsonia, PA, Margaret Carlson Rothen and her husband Neal of Emlenton, PA; six grandchildren, David Carlson, Jr. and his companion Brad Mitchell, Christopher Carlson, Jennifer Carlson Herold and her husband Josh, Brian Sawford, Brittany Sawford, Tiffany Carlson; three great grandchild, Hunter Rothen,Wyatt Herold, and William Herold; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by husband, James R. Carlson, who she married on December 19, 1953 and who passed away on June 29, 2000, one brother, John Benny, Sr., one sister, Margaret Krishart, and her stepfather, Bill McManigle.
Friends will be received Wednesday, December 6, 2017, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA 16001.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017, 10:00 am at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA 16001 with Rev. James Steiner, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., Butler, PA 16001.
Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.
