A regional group is bringing awareness to the dangers of lung cancer with a week-long event beginning today.
The American Lung Association in Pennsylvania has designated this as Turquoise Takeover Week to educate people about screenings that could save lives.
Many buildings in the Pittsburgh area will be illuminated including the City County Building, the Gulf Tower, and the Homestead Grays Bridge. Anyone can support this effort by wearing turquoise which is the signature color of Lung Force, a national initiative created against lung cancer in 2014.
More information about lung cancer screening can be found through an online quiz on the “Saved by the Scan” website.
