Lydia “Helen” Saper, 96, of Petrolia passed away Tuesday October 25, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Born January 13, 1925 in Strattenville, Clarion Co., she was a daughter of the late Samuel H. and Mary Elizabeth (Baughman) Smathers.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.
Surviving are four daughters: Marsha Dinsmore of Butler, Cynthia (Walter) Loewe of FL., Christine Franchuk of Butler and Mary Jane (Brian) Dobson of Petrolia.
Eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her niece.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Saper, Jr. who passed away January 5, 1989. Her son, Steven Allen Saper. Grandson, Eric Brown. Four brothers and a sister. Her companion, Frederick Confer.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001 from 4:00-8:00 pm Thursday. Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday at the Chapel of Devotion, Butler County Memorial Park with Rev. Radko Blichar officiating. Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.
