A longtime Butler institution is now in its final days.
The liquor license sale of the Lyndora Hotel has gone through and its owners are getting ready to close the establishment.
We spoke with the Pawk family, who have owned the Lyndora Hotel since 1947. They said the tentative plans are for next Wednesday, September 6th to be the final day for the bar and restaurant.
“We tried to sell the building and license to someone local so it would remain the Lyndora Hotel, but unfortunately we couldn’t find a prospective buyer,” Mike Pawk said.
That’s when they decided to sell the liquor license.
Pawk said it’s a bittersweet moment, but added that “it’s time.”
“Our family thanks the Butler community and appreciate the loyal patrons over the years. But it’s time for us to move on,” Pawk said. “In the final days, come in and enjoy a drink and food. It’s been a great pleasure to serve Butler.”
The Lyndora Hotel has been in existence since 1902.
