An Evans City man is facing charges after assaulting his pregnant girlfriend.
Before 1 a.m. this past Saturday morning, State Police were called to a home in the 300 block of East Main Street in Evans City for a domestic altercation. By the time police arrived, the alleged suspect, 34-year-old Loren Lawrence, had left the home after a verbal fight with the victim.
After state police left, they were called back almost 20 minutes later as the altercation had become physical.
Lawrence allegedly took the victim’s phone after she attempted to call police but neighbors heard the altercation and called police.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Lawrence was charged with simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct.
