A man is facing charges after he allegedly threatened to “blow up a woman and her dog.”
Police were called to a business on the 700 block of Herman Road this past Sunday in Summit Township for an alleged domestic incident.
When police arrived on scene, the victim told police she escaped from 52-year-old James Saffell of Herman. The victim claims that Saffell beat and strangled her.
According to charging documents, the victim was bruised, cut, and had a lump on her forehead.
The victim says Saffell assaulted her after several days of fighting. She also claims that Saffell brought a propane tank into the living room, opened the tank, and threaten to blow up the victim and their dog.
Saffell turned himself in, and has been charged with aggravated assault, strangulation, terroristic threats and several other charges.
He was released on nonmonetary bail after a preliminary arraignment Tuesday morning.
