A local man has been charged following two different incidents with police.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Butler Township Police, 46-year-old Dennis Robert John Jr of Butler was identified by an officer as driving with a suspended license on Saturday, September 18th. John allegedly refused to pull over and ran multiple stop signs around Butler at a high rate of speed. Later John fled police on foot. Police were able to locate John’s vehicle and found drug paraphernalia inside.
Another criminal complaint was filed by Butler Township Police regarding John’s activity immediately after he fled police on foot. After receiving information that John could be hiding near the Sheetz on Pittsburgh Road, an officer responded to the scene where two men were found in a suspicious vehicle. Eventually John was identified as the passenger in the vehicle. As police attempted to arrest John, he allegedly got into a physical conflict with an officer who was injured. Police used a Taser to eventually arrest John.
John will face charges including felony fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer as well as aggravated assault.
