A man is in the Butler County Prison after he allegedly held a man against his will inside a Butler City home.
The incident happened last Friday in the 500 block of West Cunningham Street.
The victim, who is above the age of 80, called police from a local business and told them 32-year-old Jamel Patton held him as a prisoner in his home not allowing him to leave for three days. The victim accused Patton of selling drugs out of the home and allegedly told him if he attempted to leave he would “Rip [the victims] head off.”
When police arrived, they discovered a man in home and took him to custody. Patton initially gave a false identification to police, but they later found an Ohio ID with his name on it. After a strip search of Patton at the police station several controlled substances were found hidden in his possession, including fentanyl, crack-cocaine, and suspected methamphetamine.
Patton is facing several charges including three counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, false imprisonment, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He’s been placed in the Butler County Prison on $500,000 bond and is awaiting a preliminary arraignment.
