Police have charged a man for a fire at an abandoned home in Butler Township.
The Butler County 911 Center received numerous calls just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday when neighbors heard multiple explosions coming from an abandoned home in the 300 block of Whitestown Road.
When crews got on scene, they found a fully involved fire and smoke billowing over the home.
Crews were able to get the fire under control in about an hour, although they remained on scene for more than four hours.
Following an investigation, Butler Township Police have charged 61-year-old Michael Pallone for intentionally starting the fire.
He’s facing charges of arson, risking a catastrophe, and criminal mischief.
