A Butler man accused of shooting another man in the face in the City of Butler last year has accepted a plea agreement with the Butler County District Attorney’s office.
36-year-old Samuel Lopez was charged with shooting a man in the face in the 300 block of East Pearl Street in February 2024. Police say it stemmed over a dispute about money.
Lopez has pled guilty to Aggravated assault, attempts to cause serious bodily injury or causes injury with extreme indifference.
This agreement comes as jury selection began for Lopez late last week.
Details on sentencing have not been made readily available but Lopez will be sentenced on May 22.
