A Westmoreland County man was sentenced in a Butler County courtroom late last week following charges that he tried to have a sexual relationship with a minor.
47-year-old Mark Garris was sentenced to 4 to 8 years in jail followed by eight years of probation.
Garris was arrested after police set up a fake online account pretending to be a 15-year-old girl. Garris continued the conversation and arranged to meet the girl at a Cranberry hotel. That’s where he was apprehended by police.
A Butler County jury found Garris guilty in March for three felonies.
The attorney general’s office also says that Garris worked as a school bus driver in the Greensburg Salem School District.
