Marilyn Ethel Glasgow, 92 of Butler, Pennsylvania, went to be with the precious Savior March 25, 2023.
She was born December 11, 1930 in Jefferson Township, PA to the late Forest H. Burtner and Mary Lena (Giles) Burtner, the youngest of 17 children.
Marilyn was a kind caring person willing to do anything for anyone, especially her family. She always had a listening ear. She was a great hostess to any guest.” Do you want a cup of coffee?”
Marilyn always loved and served Jesus and her desire was that everyone she knew come to love and follow Jesus too. She played the organ for over 69 years and was active in many other church ministries, such as a deaconess, bus ministry, Sunday school teacher and arranging flowers for the church.
She was self employed as a Rawleigh dealer for 50 years. He first job was at Offutt’s, then Butler County Court House in the Recorder of Deed’s Office and Montgomery Wards.
Marilyn is survived by 4 sons, Dennis (Catherine) Glasgow, Ted (Tammy) Glasgow, Jamie (Macia) Glasgow and Paul (Brenda); 8 grandchildren, Nicole Glasgow, Shannon Clarke, Ryan(Gus) Glasgow, Lindy Turney, Leslie Fabris, Kenneth Glasgow, Dylan Glasgow, and Jake Glasgow and 10 great grandchildren; and her brother Harry Burtner and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Glasgow whom she married on June 25, 1951 and who passed away on July 26, 2000, one grandson, Chad Glasgow, 5 sisters, and 10 brothers.
Friends will be received at Faith Fellowship Church , 200 Faith Way-Fared Drive, Butler, PA at 10 a.m., Monday, March 27th followed by the Funeral Service at 11 am with Rev. Richard Jenks officiating.
Burial will take place in the Summit Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
